The short version

A parking lot full of open trunks and full saddlebags

Decorated cars and bikes line up in our lot, pop the back open, and hand out candy to every trick-or-treater who walks by. Add carnival games, food trucks and music, and that's the afternoon. Costumes encouraged for everyone — drivers, riders, kids and grown-ups.

How the day runs. Vehicle registration opens at 9 a.m. and the lot opens to trick-or-treaters at 11. Candy and games run until 2, voting closes when the lot does, and best-decorated awards go out at 2:30. Come whenever — there's no program to be on time for.

Trick-or-treating

Walk the rows, say hello, fill the bag. Bring your own bucket or pillowcase.

Carnival games

Game list TBD — plus whether they're free or ticketed.

Food trucks

Lunch is handled. Lineup: Trucks TBD

Music

Music TBD playing through the lot all three hours.

Prizes

Awards for the best decorated car and the best decorated bike. Details below.

Free parking

Park anywhere in the lot outside the marked trunk-or-treat rows.

Best decorated

Two categories. Two trophies.

Every registered vehicle is automatically in the running. No extra form, no entry fee — just show up decorated.

2 Wheels

Best decorated bike

Any make, any year. Saddlebags, sissy bar, fairing, trailer — if it's attached to the bike, it counts. Bring a bucket or a bag stand so you're not bending over for three hours.

4 Wheels

Best decorated car

Cars, trucks, SUVs, vans. The trunk or tailgate is the canvas. Themes, lights and full build-outs all welcome — the more there is to look at, the better.

Scan to vote  /  Voting closes at 2 p.m.  /  Awards at 2:30 p.m.  /  Prizes for both categories

Voting is on your phone. Scan the QR code posted around the lot, pick your favorite in each category, and you're done — one ballot per person, no app to download. Voting opens at 11 a.m. on event day and closes at 2. Winners are announced in the lot at 2:30.

For drivers and riders

How to hand out candy

Registration is free and happens the day of — there's nothing to sign up for ahead of time. Here's the order of operations.

Have a decorating plan in place

Know what you're building before you pull in. There's room to set up on site, but plan for everything to run off your own batteries — there's no power available in the lot and no generators.

Arrive between 9 and 11

Vehicle registration opens at 9 a.m., which gives you two hours to check in, park and set up. Once the lot opens to families at 11, we stop moving vehicles.

Register at the entrance

Give us your name and vehicle at the check-in table on your way in. Free, takes a minute, and puts you on the ballot for best decorated.

Park where we point

Staff will place you in the rows. Back-in for cars so the trunk faces the walking lane. Kickstand pucks are a good idea if the asphalt is warm.

Bring candy

Plan on Candy quantity TBD. Individually wrapped only. Non-candy options like stickers or glow bracelets are always a hit with the allergy families.

Stay through the awards

No engines running and no vehicles leaving while kids are walking the lot. Awards are at 2:30, so plan to be there until then — we'll call the all-clear when it's safe to pull out.

A few ground rules. Keep it family-friendly — gore, jump scares and fog machines don't play well with a lot full of toddlers. No open flame, no candles, battery lights only. And whatever you bring in, take back out with you.

Good to know

Before you head over

Weather

Rain plan TBD

Strollers & wagons

Bring them. The lot is flat, paved and easy to walk with little ones.

Restrooms

Inside the dealership, open the whole event.

Dress warm

It's a Wisconsin parking lot in late October. Layers under the costume.
